Ok, so, My friend bought the original Guild Wars ( I think refered to as Prophocies) and the key code worked and everything, when he finally got to the character select screen it says:

Your account is not currently authorized to play Guild Wars. If you wish to continue playing, Click the "enter store" button above and purchase the appropriate Guild Wars campaign.

wtf? So...? Does that mean that you can't just play prophocies any more, you have to buy a new expansion?

It sounds like it was a trial key, not an actual game key. And now it's expired. You sure he actually bought it?

All current GW chapters are alive and well. The message does sound like the one you get after your trial key has expired.

If your friend did not purchase an unopened game from a store, then possibly he has been scammed by someone selling an expired trial key. He will need to purchase a new game before he can play.

If he purchased the game as an unopened box, then he should go to PlayNC.com support and submit a report. They will help if he has proof of ownership.

If he used a trial before, other than a prophecies trial, you cannot use NightFall characters or Faction characters if you only have prophecies
